United We Roll Show Schedule
Stardust Radio – www.stardustradio.com
Tuesday, August 4, 2009 2pm – 4pm Central
Repeats Wednesday at 6:30pm Central
Welcome Stardust Listeners and thank you for joining us here on United We Roll this the first Tuesday of August, 2009.
I am sure we have all heard the news about Capt Scott Speicher, whose plane was shot down on Jan 17, 1991 during the Gulf War. Our hearts and prayers have been and still are with his family.
Today is a big anniversary for the United States Coast Guard - It was established on August 4th of 1790. Happy Birthday to the men and women who serve to guard our shores, who save numerous lives along the waterways and so much more every single day. Thank You to all of you and to your families.
We have four more great visits to share with you all today…In the words of one of our guests, “As much as I hate to leave my family, I can help to ensure the fight stays out of my backyard”. Is it no wonder we call our military members our Heroes of Freedom?
Because we do not edit these visits and we certainly would not think of cutting anything out to make them fit our show schedule, our show will run over by approximately 45 minutes – ending at 4:45pm today. We hope you all can stay with us - you will not want to miss any of these great visits. We will have a repeat of our show tomorrow evening at 6:30pm Central and an MP3 copy will be on our show archive site for listening and downloading within about 48 hours after this broadcast.
Joining us during our first visit today will be two members who are deployed with the 380th AEW/CES (Air Expeditionary Wing/Civil Engineer Squadron). Not only do SSgt Lawrence McGuire and TSgt Daniel Coopman stand guard over our freedom, they are also first responders protecting those with whom they serve, as they are firefighters with medical training who conduct inspections, respond to emergencies and more.
Our second visit is with SPC Nicholas Randall who is deployed with Charlie Company, Division Special Troops Battalion, 1st Cavalry. Working 12 hour days and currently on duty every day, no days off, SPC Randall remains enthusiastic about his mission and his service to our country. Another great example of so many of the young men and women who volunteer to protect our country and our freedom.
Our next two visits will involve members who are deployed with the 46th Engineer Combat Battalion (Heavy), but each has a very different job from the other. First, we will speak with PFC David Branch who is a heavy equipment operator and trainer. Then we will visit with SGT David Staples, who is a Medic and is on the job taking care of our troops from sick call to receiving injured. Both visits are very interesting and again make us aware of the many missions that Engineer Battalions and their incredible members cover.
Our final visit for today is with members of the 376th EAMXS – that is the Expeditionary Air Maintenance Backshop. Joining us are SSgt William Ishler, SSgt Otis Land and A1C Joel Williamson who will explain a lot about the welding craftsmanship when making metal repairs on aircraft, the conditions under which repairs are made and much more. This is a truly informative and inspirational visit with three wonderful Americans. You will not want to miss a minute!
As always, we are extremely honored to bring you these visits with our Heroes of Freedom. And, we are very honored to have you, our listeners, join us each week.
Our hearts and prayers are always with our military members, families, Veterans and to all of our first responders & their families - everyone who puts their lives on hold and on the line for us and our families.
May God Bless You All and May God Bless America!
