Welcome Stardust Listeners and thank you for joining us here on United We Roll this Tuesday, the 9th day of March, 2010!
For our show today, we have three great visits with 5 of our deployed Heroes of Freedom to share with you all. Remember, if you are not able to stay with us through the show this afternoon, it will repeat again tomorrow evening, Wednesday, March 10th at 6:30pm Central. In addition, an MP3 copy will be placed on our show archive site for listening and downloading. You can reach our archive site at www.stardustradio.info or through our United We Roll page on our full website at www.stardustradio.com. If you have noticed that the archive has been a little behind in recent shows, the server has had a technical problem, but we expect that to be fixed any time now and the site to be updated.
(2:08pm) Our first guest for today is Army SPC Travis Manship, who is currently in his third month of a 12 month deployment with G CO 1-41 FA. Though duties on this third deployment have SPC Manship in an office, he is still working long hours with 12 hour shifts and a schedule with 6 days on duty and one day off. This Iowa native tells us about the memories of his home state and the lifestyle that he now has as the Army is home to him and his family.
(2:40pm) Our next visit is with two deployed Air Force members who are currently deployed with the 376th AEW (Air Expeditionary Wing) and are not only holding down their regular jobs, but they are also working on a very large, special project. TSgt Mike Meyer and SrA Zakk Young are here to tell us about a major project to purchase, then bring in truckloads of lumber, then load the lumber on to planes and send it off to troops in Afghanistan where the wood is needed for construction. And, this story is extra special, because these two dedicated airmen are back to tell it to us again, having been here once, but a computer ate the copy of the interview.
(3:16pm) Our third and final visit for today is with a married active duty couple who are currently on deployment with the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing. TSgt David Maurice and SSG Lindsey Maurice are here to talk about the many facets of military life including being married and on duty, the duties each is tasked with on deployment, why they joined, why they still serve and if the deployments are taking a toll on married life. This is a great visit and you will not want to miss a minute of it.
I would also like to acknowledge some folks who are always so helpful and were again this week: Capt Joe Campbell, Tom Conning, 1LT Angelo Valdebenito and SSG Carolyn Viss.
As always, we are extremely honored to bring you these visits with our deployed Heroes of Freedom. And, we are very honored to have you, our listeners, join us each week.
And, as always, we wish to acknowledge and to thank all of the Public Affairs members who help us each and every week to set up these fantastic visits and, of course, all of our very special guests.
Our hearts and prayers go out to our military members, families, Veterans and to all of our first responders & their families - everyone who puts their lives on hold and on the line for us and our families.
We would like to invite our Veterans, active duty members, family members and anyone who is interested in health and legislative issues that effect those who protect our freedom to tune in to our other broadcasts – OFFE with Gene Simes and Jere Berry at 8pm Central on Tuesday nights, SVR with Jerrel Cook at 5:30pm Central on Wednesday nights, and with Rick Townsend and Firebase Network Sundays at 6:00pm Central.
Host your own weekly radio show where you can discuss your organization’s upcoming events, projects and more. This can be done totally by phone or by computer through the teleconference room. Thus, it really makes no difference where in the USA a show host is located. Receive calls from interested guests with questions.
With or without a radio show, you may wish to reserve your own Chat Star full service teleconference room where you can hold seminars and meetings with charts, photos, sound to talk with your participants and much more. You can put on meetings, birthday parties, family reunions. Your room will have a set amount of seating that you establish when you make the initial arrangements with Stardust Radio for a Chat Star teleconference room.
Call Stardust Radio at 319-648-3201 and ask for owner Jeff for more information on this full service local AM and Internet station. Take a tour of a Chat Star room.
We wish you all a good, safe and healthy week.
May God Bless You All And May God Bless America!
