Stardust Radio & United We Roll World Tour Show Reaching 9th Anniversary of Providing Military Support
By unitedweroll on Sep 20, 2010 | In Military News and Support
Here at Stardust Radio, we are hitting a big milestone this month of September, as we celebrate our 9th anniversary of providing military support on our United We Roll World Tour show. We began by including information about assistance that was available to our military members and families from fellow Americans across the country. We invited guests from every military support organization, which were not very many in 2001, but in 2003 we saw more groups forming and it grew from there.
As an all volunteer based radio network, we understand how difficult it can be to keep support organizations up and going financially, especially through the economic pressures that we have seen lately. We were always proud to provide free air time to those who also worked hard to provide support to our troops.
Over the years, our interviews with deployed troops became so popular with both our guests and listeners, that almost our entire broadcast time for United We Roll has been dedicated to these visits, as we bring fresh new conversations every week from those who protect our country and our freedom. We have spoken with hundreds of very special men and women, including approximately 300 in 2009 alone. Our greatest reward has been by way of the thanks and compliments we have received from our Heroes of Freedom, their family members and those who tune in or link to us each week.
We are proud to still be going and to have added more programs bringing support to those who have served. Gene Simes and Jere Beery of OFFE have not only kept information flowing for several years on legislation that impacts our Veterans, but they have been instrumental in increasing awareness and providing assistance. Rick Townsend, with his show of several years called Firebase Network, also brings great speakers, answers callers and has terrific forums that provide critical information for those who have given so much for us and for our country.
We thank all of you who tune in to our shows and who support our troops and Stardust Radio.

Tuesday 9/21/10 1:00pm – 3:02pm Central (Live)
Wednesday 9/22/10 6:30pm – 8:32pm Central (Repeat)
Welcome Stardust Listeners and thank you for joining us on United We Roll this Tuesday, the 21st day of September, 2010 as we once again take time to honor those who serve our country and who protect our freedom!
This past Friday, September 17th, was the National Day of Remembrance for our POW/Mia's. There were some beautiful and deeply touching events around our country. Hopefully, these Heroes and their families will never be out of our minds or out of our hearts & prayers.
We have three outstanding visits with deployed members who are currently serving overseas. The show will end at our usual time of 4pm Central. Remember, if you are not able to stay with us through the show this afternoon, it will repeat again tomorrow evening, Wednesday, Sept 22nd at 6:30pm Central. In addition, an MP3 copy will be placed on our show archive site for listening and downloading after the shows have been broadcast. You can reach our archive site at www.stardustradio.info or on the United We Roll page at www.stardustradio.com.
(2:09pm) Our first visit for this show is with Air Force member SSG Yevgeniy Maksimov of the 376th AEW, who is currently on deployment at Transit Center Manas where he manages an office of host nation translators - that means people from the local area - in addition to serving as a translator and interpreter himself. One reason why "Max" is probably suited for this job is that he grew up in the Ukraine.
(2:40pm) Coming up next is a remarkable visit with two members of the Emergency Medic al Team at Joint Base Balad. We are speaking with Maj/Dr Cameron M. Thurman and SSG/Paramedic Timothy M. Johansen of the 332nd EMDG/ER. They both serve in Emergency Medicine, where they must be prepared for any type of injury or illness to come in at any time. (Also see article in UWR Blog called "Hero's Highway")
(3:16pm) Our third and final visit for this show is with Army Maj Gary Morea, who serves as the Brigade Aviation Officer of the 1AAB, 3ID, currently on deployment in Iraq. This visit covers a wealth of information including some experiences with that amazing Apache Helicopter from the Major's three deployments up to and including the present.
We would like to thank some folks without whom these visits would not be possible. Our deepest appreciation goes to TSG Jennifer Buzanowski, MSgt Mike Hamill, and Maj Vinston Porter. May I add that there is no way for Jeff and I to express our true honor to host these conversations with such special men and women and to bring them home to you all.
