Tuesday 9/28/10 2:00pm – 4:30pm Central (Live)
Wednesday 9/29/10 6:30pm – 9:00pm Central (Repeat)
Welcome Stardust Listeners and thank you for joining us on United We Roll this Tuesday, the 28th day of September, 2010 as we once again take time to honor those who serve our country and who protect our freedom!
Now on to our show .... We have four great visits with deployed members who have been or are currently serving overseas. All four of our guests have something in common - they all have duties that help those with whom they serve. The show will end at 4:30pm Central, which is 30 minutes past our usual two hour broadcast period. Remember, if you are not able to stay with us through the show this afternoon, it will repeat again tomorrow evening, Wednesday, Sept 29th at 6:30pm Central. In addition, an MP3 copy will be placed on our show archive site for listening and downloading after the shows have been broadcast. You can reach our archive site at www.stardustradio.info or on the United We Roll page at www.stardustradio.com.
(2:09pm) Our first visit for this show is with Army Spc Jody Miller, who is currently deployed with C Co, 2-7 IN, 3ID. This Gulf Coast native is working the communications lifeline through radio contact from the base to soldiers who are outside the wire. It is the dedication of soldiers like SPC Miller that helps us to understand how they manage deployment duties and separations from families.
(2:33pm) Coming up next is our conversation with Air Force MSG Jeremy Jones, who is on deployment with the 376th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron/Emergency Flight Management unit. MSG Jones ensures that the Emergency Operations Center is trained and ready to go in case of a natural disaster, accident or incident.
(3:13pm) Our third visit for this show is a quick one as we had a time restriction, but we still had a terrific visit with Army 1st Sgt Roy Dyer of the HHC, 1st AAB, 3ID. It takes a very special person to wear the diamond insignia of the 1st Sgt and you will know why Roy Dyer has the diamond and the rank after this visit.
(3:24pm) Our fourth and final visit of this show is with someone who is pretty special to Stardust Radio and United We Roll. Tom Conning not only has served on active duty with the Army, but he has also continued service to remain in Iraq and work with Public Affairs to tell the stories of the very special men and women who protect our freedom. This is a visit you will certainly enjoy and we were so happy to say "Welcome Home" upon Tom's return to the USA.
We would like to thank some folks without whom these visits would not be possible. Our deepest appreciation goes to TSG Jennifer Buzanowski, Capt Curt Schultheiss, Maj Vinston Porter and Tom Conning. Once again, there is no way for Jeff and I to express our true honor to host these conversations with such special men and women, and then bring them to you all.

Last Sunday, September 26th, was Gold Star Mothers' Day. This organization was founded by Grace Darling Seibold in 1918 after her son was lost in an airfight in WWI. She organized a group consisting solely of these special mothers, with the purpose of not only comforting each other, but giving loving care to hospitalized veterans confined in government hospitals far from home.
The organization was named after the Gold Star that families hung in their windows in honor of the deceased veteran. The group was officially named American Gold Star Mothers in 1928.
The whole history is really quite beautiful and can be found along with more information at the Gold Star Mothers Website. The address is http://www.goldstarmoms.com
